Are you fearless?
The definition of fearless is lacking fear! As I woke up a couple of mornings ago I was seeking the Lord and the word “Fear-Less” came to me. I began to meditate on that word. The Lord knows me so well and I tend to have fears which had in the past been a stronghold for me. During this time of the nations shutdown due to Covid19 there has been so much uncertainty. The news constantly sells us fear, so as a point I deliberately don’t watch the news. However, it doesn’t take long to feel the fear in the atmosphere. Just go to a store that is considered “essential” and people are in various states of fear. People stand as far away from you as possible and most are masked, trying to keep the dreaded virus away from them. And this is a worldwide pandemic, it isn’t just our country but the whole world that is under this. It’s sad. I’m not minimizing the loss of life, or those that are vulnerable. Of course we should take precautions for their sake, but shouldn’t we always anyway?
Getting back to the definition of fearless, lacking fear. The Lord was telling me to be fearless, in spite of the fear that has permeated the very air right now. That day at my work our chiropractic patients came in as we had to spread them out to avoid more than one person coming in at a time. Most had masks on, not all but most. Some patients would not even come in due to the fear. About the third patient that came in was a woman and she had a tee-shirt on that said “fearless”. I love how the Lord always confirms his word to me! It’s a personal adventure to see how He will confirm His word to me, I look for it.
Fear is the opposite of Faith
I had wrote a blog a while back about fear being the opposite of faith. You simply can not walk in faith and be fear-less at the same time, they oppose one another. Not only that but with fear brings torment. Fear is an emotion but it is also a very real demon. The more you fear the more torment starts to harass you. You imagine things that terrify you and no peace is in you in those moments.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has torment, and he that fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
Brothers and sisters, our lives belong to God. So why fear? We know our eternity is in heaven, we don’t die! Wow, that never stops making me dance inside. I have lost precious loved ones, including my beautiful 18 year old daughter years ago. Trust me, I have had plenty of reasons to wallow in fear. But I choose joy, and know that my loved ones are in the care of their heavenly Father. Leaving this world, though I am not anxious to go is not something I fear.
These things will come
At the beginning of this pandemic I was seeking the Lord, asking Him a thousand questions like I do when I really really want to know what is going on. I love the prophetic and seek it out. However as much as I desire answers in my own timing they don’t usually come. Instead the Lord spoke this to me.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains (Matthew 24:6-8).
He very gently told me that He had told me ahead of time that these things would come. That was all! I was like “Lord is that all? I really need specifics here!” As I was asking I immediately began to recall another scripture. The Lord was answering me, just not how I desired. I wanted to know details. How long was this going to be going on? What was going to happen tomorrow, the day after and so forth.
Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28
These are exciting times we live in for those of us that are in the Lord. We are witnessing the birth pangs of the world before our Savior returns. This may be the generation that sees the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. So how should we live? Fearless! Lets instead be the light to those around us that are walking in the grips of fear. Let our love be a calming force in this world. The truth is not one of us can determine how long we have here in this world. Let’s not waste our precious time, now more then ever we need to share the gospel with a hurting world. These times of great uncertainty are excellent opportunities to present our hope which is in Jesus Christ. Stay grounded brothers and sisters, read the word every day. It truly is life, and we need to give words of life. We should always be prepared in season and out of season. Now is definitely in season.
Blessings, Your sister in Christ,
